About the Role:
SP Motorsports crew members play an essential role in delivering exceptional track day and race experiences for drivers and their Porsche vehicles. These positions require a passion for performance, teamwork, and excellence on and off the track.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support for Porsche vehicles, including diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs.
• Collaborate with drivers, engineers, and team members to optimize performance.
• Manage transportation and ensure equipment is prepped and delivered on schedule.
• Adapt to dynamic track and race environments while maintaining professionalism.

What We’re Looking For:

• Motorsport Experience: Previous track day or race event experience is highly preferred.
• Porsche Knowledge: Familiarity with Porsche vehicles and their unique performance requirements.
• Leadership Abilities: For Team Manager, Crew Chief, and Car Chief roles, leadership and decision-making skills are essential.
• Mechanical Skills: Strong diagnostic and repair abilities for Crew and Car Chief roles.
• Team-Oriented: Collaborative spirit and adaptability to high-pressure situations.
• Availability: Must be available to work weekends and travel to various California tracks.

1. • Listen to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle symptoms and service needs.
   • Provide clear explanations of services, repairs, and estimated costs.
   • Maintain open communication with customers regarding the status of their vehicles and any changes in service estimates or timing.
2. Service Coordination:
   • Schedule service appointments and coordinate with the service team to ensure efficient workflow.
   • Prepare detailed and accurate repair orders, including pricing, timelines, and required parts.
   • Assist customers with warranty and service contract inquiries.
   • Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and address any additional concerns.
3. Sales and Upselling:
   • Identify additional service opportunities and recommend maintenance services or repairs to customers.
   • Provide information on product offerings, promotions, and service packages.
   • Assist in achieving sales targets by promoting service and parts sales.
4. Administrative Tasks:
   • Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions, service recommendations, and completed repairs.
   • Process payments and manage billing inquiries.
   • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
5. Team Collaboration:
   • Work closely with technicians and parts department to ensure timely and accurate service delivery.
   • Communicate effectively with all team members to facilitate a positive and productive work environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in automotive technology or business management is a plus.
• Previous experience in a service advisor role or similar customer service position, preferably in the automotive or motorsports industry.
• Strong knowledge of automotive services, products, and repair procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in using computer systems and service management software.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Job Description:

SP Motorsports is a Porsche racing team based in the San Fransisco Bay Area specializing in track prep, aftermarket modification, and maintenance. We are seeking to expand our engineering department to design, test, and manufacture high performance automotive components for a wide range of Porsche models. The duration of the internship can be adjusted to meet individual academic requirements, preferably starting June 2025 and ending September 2025.

What You’ll Do:

Your main responsibility is to assist the engineering team by taking on current projects with guidance as needed. Examples for possible projects include:

• Designing aerodynamic, structural, and aesthetic parts for a variety of Porsche models
• Analyzing existing and new products with an emphasis on design for manufacturing (CNC, composites, and laser/waterjet cutting)
• Reverse engineering existing off-the-shelf products using 3D scanning and traditional metrology
• Assisting in project management and coordination of manufacturing

Requirements:

• Familiar with CAD software (Fusion preferred)
• Must be able to work a minimum of 30 hrs/week on site in Hayward, CA
• Strong passion for the motorsports/racing industry
• Currently enrolled at an accredited university studying Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Expected graduation date of 2027-2028
