Highlights
Available now, is this beautiful example of a “purist” driving machine. This is the first generation of GT3 cars offered by Porsche that was delivered to the USA. Produced in the early 2000s as Homologation cars for international racing, these GT3’s are a very special breed. With motorsport style ABS, optimized suspension geometry, motorsport spherical bearings, big 6 piston brakes and a “no bulls**t” attitude, this car is gleaming with character. It’s hard to find cars like this nowadays that has so much to offer the driver without the use of trick driver aids, 30 customizable driver modes and an infotainment system that requires a computer science degree. No, this car is as raw as they come, no traction control and no stability control. This is all mechanical, just you and a machine with an engine hanging from the back. Engine, how could we forget this masterpiece bolted to the rear of this thing. Like the thoroughbreds that came before it, this car is equipped with the best, the famous Metzger 3.6 liter flat-six. This modernized and watercooled 3.6 liter boasted an amazing 380 horsepower, but in actuality, we have see most 996 GT3’s put down over 400 horsepower! These cars are truly a joy to drive and the experience is unmatched. The car is raw, confidence inspiring and very communicative. A true drivers car in its most unadulterated form.
This particular car has been fully maintained with all service and maintenance is up to date. Most notably, engine coolant pipes have been welded, transmission rebuilt by Bill Rader Motorsports in Nevada and Guard Differential. Car has always been Enthusiast owned and is an exceptionally clean car. In 2004 only 138 Speed Yellow examples were delivered to the USA, and 20 in 2005. This truly is a spectacular and notably and very special car.
