The Porsche 9A1 engine uses aluminum bolts to secure the cam bolt actuator. These bolts work well under normal conditions, but they can become a weak point over time. Our experience racing, repairing, and servicing Porsche engines has shown us the risks.
When an aluminum bolt shears, it can cause serious internal engine damage. A simple hardware failure can quickly lead to an expensive engine-out repair. Our Titanium Cam Bolt Actuator Bolts provide a preventative solution to this potential failure. We CNC machine each bolt from high-strength Grade 5 titanium. Titanium delivers significantly greater strength while keeping added weight to a minimum.
Steel replacements offer plenty of strength, but they add considerably more weight. Steel bolts can weigh approximately 3.5 times more than the original aluminum hardware. That extra weight adds rotational mass the engine must overcome. Our titanium bolts weigh approximately 1.5 times more than the OEM aluminum bolts. They also provide roughly three times the strength of the original aluminum hardware. This combination provides increased strength without the weight penalty of conventional steel bolts.
Each bolt features a high-torque T45 head for secure installation and reliable service. The kit maintains OEM fitment and includes everything needed for installation. Thread locker, OEM seals, and OEM gaskets are included with the hardware. For Porsche owners, these bolts eliminate a potential weak point within the 9A1 engine. They deliver greater strength, lower weight, and the fitment expected from a purpose-built Porsche component.
