The 992 GT3 RS doesn’t need more capability. It needs the right spring rate for how you use it. Porsche designed the factory springs to balance street compliance, comfort, and track performance. However, increased grip, lower ride heights, and additional aerodynamic load increase the demands placed on the chassis. That’s where the SP Motorsports Performance Spring Package comes in.

THE NUMBERS

SP Motorsports:
166 N/mm Front
211 N/mm Rear

For comparison:

Our spring package sits between the factory GT3 RS and the 992 GT3 Cup. That middle ground is intentional. The goal isn’t to turn the GT3 RS into a Cup car. Instead, we’re adding spring support where a more aggressive track setup demands it.

KEY BENEFITS

Increased Chassis Control
Higher spring rates provide greater support during hard braking, cornering, acceleration, and high-speed transitions.

Quicker Response
The increased rates reduce excessive chassis movement, allowing the car to respond more quickly to driver inputs.

Reduced Bottoming
Additional spring support helps manage suspension compression when running lower ride heights or increased aerodynamic load.

Greater High-Speed Confidence
A more controlled platform helps maintain chassis composure through high-speed corners and heavy braking zones.

Track-Focused Without Going Full Cup
The 166/211 N/mm combination increases support while remaining manageable for a dedicated street and track car.

The factory GT3 RS suspension is designed around a broad range of driving conditions. However, a track-focused setup introduces significantly higher demands. Wider and stickier tires increase mechanical grip, while aerodynamic load adds additional force through high-speed corners. Lower ride heights also reduce available suspension travel, increasing the potential for bottoming under heavy compression. The SPM spring package provides additional support to better manage those loads. The result is a more controlled chassis with quicker response during braking, cornering, acceleration, and rapid direction changes.

WHY NOT GO STRAIGHT TO CUP RATES?

The 992 GT3 Cup runs 260 N/mm front and 300 N/mm rear. Those rates are designed around a dedicated race car with substantially different requirements. For a GT3 RS that still sees street driving, jumping directly to Cup-car rates can introduce unnecessary harshness and reduce compliance. The SPM package takes a more balanced approach. 166 N/mm front and 211 N/mm rear provide a meaningful increase over the factory setup without approaching full Cup-car rates.

For drivers pushing their 992 GT3 RS beyond its factory setup, spring rate is an important part of controlling the chassis. The SP Motorsports Performance Spring Package provides that additional support without sacrificing the versatility that makes the GT3 RS such a capable street and track car. Less compromise than the factory setup. More compliance than a Cup car. Built for drivers who want to push the GT3 RS harder.
